The Design editor is fully usable with the mouse, but its shortcuts make layout work much faster. In the tables below, Mod means ⌘ on macOS and Ctrl on Windows/Linux. Shortcuts work when the canvas is active; typing in a text, number, or other input keeps the normal typing behavior.
Use ? at any time in the editor to open or close its on-screen shortcut sheet.

Save, history, and view
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Save current layout | Mod S |
| Undo | Mod Z |
| Redo | Mod Shift Z or Mod Y |
| Zoom in / out | Mod + / Mod - |
| Fit canvas to view | Mod 0 |
| Temporarily pan the canvas | Hold Space, then drag |
| Toggle rulers | Shift R |
| Open/close shortcut help | ? |
| Preview previous/next component item | ← / → in Preview mode |
Zoom, rulers, and panning change only your working view. They never change the component's printed dimensions or another collaborator's layout.
Select, copy, and organize
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Select all elements | Mod A |
| Copy / cut / paste | Mod C / Mod X / Mod V |
| Duplicate selected elements | Mod D |
| Delete selection | Delete or Backspace |
| Group selected elements | Mod G |
| Ungroup | Mod Shift G |
| Lock/unlock selection | Alt/Option Shift L |
| Move one layer forward/back | Mod ] / Mod [ |
| Bring to front / send to back | Option Alt Mod ] / Option Alt Mod [ |
| Step through elements in z-order | Tab / Shift Tab |
| Escape a panel, group, or selection | Escape |
Escape has a deliberate order: it closes the layout browser first, steps out of an entered group second, and clears the selection last. If something seems to remain selected, press it once more rather than clicking blindly on the canvas.
Position, size, and rotation
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Nudge selection 1 pixel | Arrow keys |
| Nudge selection 10 pixels | Shift + Arrow keys |
| Resize selection 1 pixel from its top-left origin | Mod + Arrow keys |
| Resize selection 10 pixels | Mod Shift + Arrow keys |
| Rotate 1° left/right | , / . |
| Rotate 15° left/right | Shift , / Shift . |
During an image resize, hold Shift to temporarily release its aspect-ratio constraint. While dragging or resizing any element, hold Mod, Ctrl, or Alt to bypass the editor's snap guides for that movement. This is useful for intentional near-alignments, but keep snapping on for the normal final pass.
Add elements without leaving the canvas
| Element | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Text | T |
| Rectangle | R |
| Ellipse | C |
| Line | L |
These shortcuts add a sensible new element at the canvas center. They do not replace the asset pickers: use Elements for images, Game art, custom uploads, icons, and an exact shape choice.
A fast, safe editing loop
- Select the elements you are changing, then use
Mod Gfor a reusable cluster such as a title panel and its badge. - Align with the multi-select toolbar or the right-click Align submenu; use arrow keys only for the last pixel-level adjustment.
- Duplicate with
Mod D, change the duplicate, and use layer shortcuts to verify its stacking order. - Enter Preview mode and use the left/right arrows to inspect long values and edge cases.
- Save with
Mod Sbefore switching collection, layout face, or project.
