A colour-matching card game template with Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Wild fronts, a house-rule card and a shared back, cut to poker size and print-ready. Each card runs its colour to the edge with a sunburst in it and a cream keyline inside the cut, a big outlined numeral on a cream scalloped seal in the middle, and the numeral again in the top-left corner and upside down in the bottom-right, with a line under a 6 or a 9. Skip and Reverse cards print their symbol where the numeral goes, a draw card prints its +2, and the Wild card carries a four-colour pinwheel, with a wild draw card's +4 on a disc over it. The house-rule card is cream in a four-colour border, with a name banner, a picture and your own rule. The Color column picks each card's front, Rank holds the numeral and Action the symbol. Use this template free

From blank cards to a printed deck

The print sheet is enough for a few replacement cards or a handful of house rules written in pen. A whole deck is quicker as a project, where every card is a row and each colour's design is drawn once.

Add the template to a project
Free. It copies the six fronts, the back, the columns and a 57-card deck with one of every card into a project of your own.
Change the cards in the sheet
Type a number or +2 in Rank, pick Skip or Reverse under Action, and pick the colour. An 11 or a +3 is just typed in; nothing has to be redrawn.
Write your house rules
Give a card a rule in its Description and it moves onto the house-rule card, which prints the card's name on a banner, the rule, and a picture if you add one. A photo from a birthday or a trip works there.
Print the deck
Put the cards in a deck and set how many copies of each it holds. On a paid plan, download a print PDF with bleed and crop marks, or order the deck from The Game Crafter with Print & Ship and get it back cut and boxed.

How many of each card a full deck has

A classic deck of this kind has 108 cards; newer editions add a few blank wilds. The template's sample deck has one of every card, and a deck's Copies column makes up the rest without typing a card twice.

The best-known game of this kind has cards about 56 × 88 mm (2.2 × 3.5 in), a few millimetres narrower than poker. This template is poker size, 63.5 × 88.9 mm, because that is the size Print & Ship orders from The Game Crafter, and printed at home the cards fit ordinary poker sleeves.

Prefer a blank file?

Poker size. The print sheets are nine cards a page at actual size with crop marks, fronts then backs. The single cards are 825 × 1125 at 300 DPI with an eighth of an inch of bleed, and the guide marks the cut line, the safe zone and the numeral boxes. No account needed.

Is this an official UNO card template?

No. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mattel. The cards are an original design that follows the layout colour-matching games share, and nothing on them comes from Mattel's cards: no oval, symbols, logo or card back. It is for your own deck and your own house rules.

Are the blank cards free to print?

Yes. The print sheet, in US Letter or A4, and the single blank cards download with no account. Adding the template to a project is free too, and the free plan holds one project of up to 120 cards. Exporting files and Print & Ship are on the paid plans.

How do I print blank cards at home?

Print the PDF at actual size, not "fit to page", on cardstock of 250 to 300 gsm (about 90 to 110 lb cover). Page one holds nine fronts and page two nine backs; print both sides with the page flipping on its long edge and each back lands behind a front. Cut along the marks in the margin.

What can I write on a house-rule card?

Any rule your group plays by. The sample deck has three: swap hands with any player, everyone else draws a card on your birthday, and the next two players miss a turn. The rule box holds about five lines at a size that reads across a table.

Can I put photos on the cards?

Yes. Put a picture in a house-rule card's Artwork column and it fills the window, 618 by 506 pixels, cropped to fit, so a landscape photo works best. To put a picture on every number card, add a picture layer to a colour's design in the editor.

Can I change the colours or add a fifth one?

Yes. Every part of a design is a layer you can recolour, move or delete, and a change to the red design reaches every red card. A fifth colour is a copy of one design in its new colour, a new option in the Color column, and a rule on the copy that picks it for that option.
