Orrery Tarot and Oracle Card Template

by ShuffleKit

A flat, geometric tarot set: major arcana, numbered suits, court and oracle fronts with a shared back, cut to tarot size and print-ready. Every frame is editable shapes and type rather than a flattened image, so the brass and the ink are yours to change. Comes with a seven-card sample deck.

From this template to a printed deck

A tarot deck is 78 cards and only four kinds of card. These templates are built as a set, so the trumps, the numbered suits and the court share a frame and a back and still read as different cards in a spread.

  1. Add the template to a project

Free, and it copies the four fronts, the back, the fields and the sample cards into a project of your own.

  2. Put the deck in the sheet

One row per card. Type them in, or import a CSV of all 78 and map your column names onto the template's, which is the only sane way to enter a full deck.

  3. Point each card at the design it belongs on

Right-click a design and use it for the cards that match a column value, so every trump draws on the major arcana front and every numbered card on the suit front without touching them one at a time.

  4. Print the deck

A print-ready PDF with bleed and cut lines for a home printer, or send the deck to a print-on-demand partner from inside the project and get it back cut to tarot size.

What size are tarot cards?

Tarot is the size these templates use, and it is what tarot pouches, tuck boxes and print-on-demand partners are cut for. The others are worth knowing about if the deck is meant to be shuffled one-handed or carried.

A print-on-demand partner will ask for an eighth of an inch of bleed on every edge on top of these numbers — 900 × 1500 for a tarot card, which is what the blank files below are sized to. A deck printed at two sizes cannot be shuffled together, so pick one before you draw anything.

Questions about tarot card templates

Everything you need to know before getting started.

Still have questions? Contact us

Are these tarot card templates free?

Yes. Adding a template to your project is free, and so is editing it. Paid plans cover higher export volumes and printing, not access to the templates.

Do I have to draw 78 illustrations?

No. The numbered suit cards draw their own pip field from the card's number and suit mark, so a Seven of Cups needs no artwork at all. Only the trumps and the court cards have an artwork window, which is 22 and 16 pictures rather than 78.

Can one project hold the trumps, the suits and the court?

Yes, and that is what this set is for. The designs live side by side in one project, and each card draws on the design that matches it, so the whole deck exports in one pass.

Can I change the colours?

Yes. The frames are shapes, rings and type rather than a flattened picture of a frame, so the brass, the ink and the paper are ordinary elements you can recolour, move or delete.

Can I use these for an oracle deck?

Yes. The set has an oracle front with no numeral and no artwork window, built for a deck of keywords and messages, and the other fronts work the same way with the numeral line left empty.

How do I print them?

Export a print-ready PDF with bleed and cut lines and print it on cardstock, or send the deck to a print-on-demand partner from inside ShuffleKit and get cut, tarot-sized cards back.
